Bellingham, WA: Doctober

Each October the Pickford showcases Doctober—a month-long documentary film festival dedicated to one of Bellingham’s proven favorite genres. Doctober is the largest documentary festival in the Northwest, screening over 35 films in one month. For this festival the Pickford partners with local organizations to bring important issues to the screen; many presentations feature special guests, filmmakers, pre-screening receptions, and guided group discussions.

Aspen, CO: Aspen FilmFest

Aspen Film presents its 45th Filmfest. This annual fall festival is known to showcase top filmmaking talent from around the world, featuring films that have premiered at the Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca, Telluride, Toronto, and Venice film festivals. This year, Filmfest will run from September 17-22 at the Aspen Film Isis Theatre. Champions will screen Thursday, Sept 19th at 8pm. Katie Stjernholm will be in person for a Q&A.

Crested Butte, CO: Crested Butte Film Festival

Crested Butte Film Festival (CBFF) is a community-based film festival for the people of the Gunnison Valley Region & everyone adventurous enough to make the journey. Founded in 2011, the festival brings the best new films of the year to Crested Butte at the peak of scenic aspen season. Champions of the Golden Valley is featured as the Opening Night film.
