Support Champions Everywhere
Since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in 2021, more than 8 million Afghans have fled the country. Many of the Bamyan athletes, including the women and protagonists from our film, were abruptly displaced, leaving behind the friendships and vibrant culture of their homeland.
Today, Afghan refugees can be found in nearly every state in America and in communities around the world.
We hope that Champions of the Golden Valley can illuminate the sacrifices and risks refugees everywhere take to survive, and the deep emotional bonds and relationships that keep their hope alive. Read on for ways to amplify our story and directly support the communities affected.

Support the Ski Community in Afghanistan
Nurture and develop ski culture and community in Afghanistan by supporting the Bamyan Alpine Ski Club (BASC). BASC makes wooden skis for children, assists in ski training, and organizes an annual ski race. Just $30 is enough to gift a pair of wooden skis to a local athlete!
-
Support Afghan Women
Support the right for Afghan women and girls to pursue their individual potential to self-determination, and to representation in all areas of life — political, social, cultural, and economic — through education, social engagements and activity by contributing to Women for Afghan Women.
